IDK (myidk.app) is a set of free budgeting tools built and operated by Logic Nerds: the MyBudget calculator, the MyGroceries shopping app, the Rent Map, Grocery Prices and Credit Scores pages, plus free spending plan sessions. This policy explains what information each one collects and how it is used. We never sell your information.
The numbers and item names you type into MyBudget stay in your browser. They aren't sent anywhere, and they're gone when you close or refresh the page. The spreadsheet download is built on your own device. Nothing leaves your browser unless you choose to submit your budget for review.
If you press “Submit my budget for review,” we receive:
Your budget is stored in Google Firebase. Your name, email, and note are stored separately from your budget and are only used to send you your review. Emails are sent through Resend.
Budgets are only shown in a public video if you check the box agreeing to it. A video uses your made-up name, never your real name or email, and may show your numbers and line item names. That's why we ask you to take names, employers, and account numbers out of your line items before you send.
To stop spam, submissions go through Cloudflare, which runs a quick check (Cloudflare Turnstile) and handles the request. To limit submissions to 5 per hour, we keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address for one hour, then it's deleted.
We delete your name, email, and note 90 days after we send your review. Your budget is kept until you ask us to delete it. To have it deleted, email idk@logicnerds.net with the submission code you were shown. If your budget was in a video, we'll stop using it in new videos and remove or edit published videos where we can.

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account. Sign-in is handled by Google Firebase Authentication. Each time you sign in, we also save your name, email address, and the time, so we can see how the app is used. These records can only be viewed by Logic Nerds.
Your shopping lists, completed trips, meal plans, and staples are stored in Google Firebase under your account. They're used only to run the app's features and are not sold or shared.
If you use the app as a guest without signing in, your list is saved only in your browser. We record anonymous events, such as when a guest session starts and your browser type, to see how the app is used.
You can share your lists with up to 6 people using your code. When someone joins with your code, their name and Google profile photo are saved and shown to you in My Shoppers. Shoppers can see and edit your lists, meal plans, and staples. They can't see incognito lists, and they can't delete your lists, meal plans, or staples. You can remove a shopper at any time, and a shopper can leave at any time.
If you book a free spending plan session, Google Calendar collects the name and email address you enter so the session can be scheduled. During a session you share income and expense figures so we can build your spending plan together. You are never asked for bank logins, account numbers, or government ID numbers. Anything you share is used only to help you build your spending plan and is never sold or shared. To have your session information deleted, email idk@logicnerds.net.

IDK is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of IDK after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
